Chamber Members have just completed their latest project at Crow Wood, a multi award-winning leisure centre and spa.The 50kw solar PV system will deliver 45,000 kwh a year for the next twenty years, at a cost less than 1p per kwh and beyond. This will reduce the carbon emissions by 25 tonnes a year.Crow Wood have invested heavily over the past few years in a range of sophisticated management systems, allowing them to control heating, lighting and air conditioning to minimise the waste of energy. They’ve also installed a CHP generator that lets them generate their own electricity, going on to complement this with the recent solar panel installation.“The team at Low Carbon were great.” says Oliver. “They worked around our busy schedules with no fuss and a high degree of professionalism.”Ged Ennis, the Managing Director of Low Carbon, said “We’re absolutely delighted that Crow Wood selected us to deliver this important project for them, and it’s been a pleasure working with Andy and Oliver and the team there. Constantly rising energy prices are a major issue for all businesses, and during the project we had to prove not only the environmental benefit but the commercial advantages as well. Happily, Crow Wood acted to take further control of the energy costs in a way that secures their supply, lowers costs and benefits the environment.”
